Hello doctor,
Good evening!
My husband has a problem with a wart on his thigh. Few days before there were no problems with that. Now the area beneath the warts have become swollen and appear like a small lump. Also it is very much painful.
Can you suggest a home remedy? Last two days we have applied garlic paste over it. The color of the wart has actually changed but no change in lump and pain. He can't place his legs closer because it is very much painful. It seems puss filled too. Please help.

Diagnosis: Cutaneous abscess
First I would explain about Cutaneous Abscess in brief. It is a localized collection of pus in the skin and may occur on any skin surface. These are caused by obstruction of oil (sebaceous) glands or sweat glands, minor breaks and punctures of the skin, or inflammation of hair follicles.
By your description, it seems more like a Cutaneous abscess than a wart. I advise you to meet a General Surgeon at the earliest for incision and drainage followed by course of antibiotics. Do not apply anything over it for now since it has increased in size and may rupture if dealt with wrongly leading to infection inside that may spread. Consult for emergency if fever or new symptoms develop.
Also, start antibiotics - Tab. Augmentin or co-amoxiclav 625 twice a day after food for 7 days.
You can also take Tab Dolo 650mg - 1 tablet after food if there is severe pain.
