I am a diabetic patient for last 12 years having random sugar level as high as 250. I want to have catarct operation. Please advise to get sugar level down.

Detailed Question:

Age - 69 years.
Diabetic patient for past 12 years and taking allopathic, ayurvedic, naturopathy tablets including magnetic treatment.
Sugar level random 250.
Optholmist Dr advised to get down upto 160 then cataract operation can be done within 2 weeks.

Diagnosis: Uncontrolled diabetes

You are already on the best and maximum possible treatments for the high sugars, however diet & lifestyle modification will be required to strictly control the glucose, otherwise the problem may get worse.

Diabetic eye disease is a group of eye conditions that can affect people with diabetes. 

  • Diabetic retinopathy affects blood vessels in the light-sensitive tissue called the retina that lines the back of the eye. It is the most common cause of vision loss among people with diabetes and the leading cause of vision impairment and blindness among 
    working-age adults. 
  • Diabetic macular edema (DME). A consequence of diabetic retinopathy, DME is swelling in an area of the retina called the macula. 

Here is a sample diet to help you understand the diet. 
Early Morning: Green tea ( sugar less) Breakfast: non fried preparations/ whole wheat bread/ vegetable poha, upma, etc. / idli sambhar etc. 
Mid-Morning: Fruits ( avoid the carbohydrate rich fruits like grapes, banana, custard apple and watermelon)
Lunch: 2 dry chapatti + sabji 1 katori + dal or skimmed curd €“ 1 katori + salad 1 katori Evening Snacks: Tea / Coffee sugarless + high fiber bis. OR Sprouts 1 katori 
Dinner: 2 chapatti + vegetable 1 katori + skimmed buttermilk 1 glass + salad 1 katori.

Tab volibo 0.2 mgs - Twice daily before food for 7 days.

Revert with fasting and pp sugar levels.
