I often see white bad smelling vaginal discharge between periods. The skin around is sensitive and its itches too badly.
Last Updated - Fri, Mar 16 2018Detailed Question:
Hello doctor,
Often in between two periods I see an off white discharge (with soft white bits in it) with a raw kind of smell. This discharge when comes in contact with the skin of the vulva i.e. folds of the labias (that often cracks as a result of my overall dry skin) starts itching.
There is also a spot on the inner surface of the left labia major where the skin is a bit too sensitive & itches so bad that sometimes even gets inflammatory, then few tiny warts appear & a clear fluid oozes out from the broken skin. On insertion of a finger inside the vagina I have felt the walls are rough. It seems like small warts again & inside the folds of that walls of the canal resides these soft white bits that come out along with the fluid. I don't understand what's wrong with me.
Please pour some light on the matter & kindly help.

You have a vaginal infection called Candidiasis. This is a common fungal infection that causes the itching and other symptoms you describe. You can use Candid V gel around the vulva to avoid this and cure the disease. You can also consult a Gynecologist for further questions you may have.
Also maintain hygiene and use a feminine wash such as V wash around your intimate areas once or twice a day like a normal shampoo because this infection may return and hygiene is the only way to prevent it.

These infections can be spread by sexual contact, but in general they aren’t considered a sexually transmitted infection. Treatment for these infections is relatively simple, depending on their severity.

- Wear loose-fitting underwear (although there is little evidence to support this).
- Avoid applying topical irritants such as perfumed products.
