Detailed Question:

Hi,

I am 30 years old, male with 5.4 height and 60 kg weight. I am of Asian ethnicity (INDIA basically). I work for an IT company and am in same industry since 2010. I don't travel on a rapid basis, I don't drink alcohol, I don't smoke. I got married last year. I am very happy in my family, don't have any financial tensions or any work or personal life-related tensions. I earn good and was a very lively character in my college life.

My problem is very weird. I have been experiencing a high Blood Pressure for five years. My average reading shows 140/105 every day. In morning I have an average Blood pressure of 150/110 and it comes down to 135/100 by the time I have dinner. I experience that I feel annoyed, lazy and fatigue every time. I have checked my blood for Lipid profile, Thyroid, Creatinine, FSH, everything is in control, and there is no abnormal reading. The only thing which is abnormal is the cholesterol but is not high, it is actually below than the normal range, but not much lesser than the normal range. (sorry I don't remember exact figure).

I have also had a whole abdominal X-ray and ultrasound and there is no stone. I have also checked the Uric Acid Level and Vitamin D. My Vitamin D level was below normal and then I took Vitamin D supplements (Tayo 6000 IU) that I took one tablet each every week for 4 months. After taking the Vitamin D supplement, I felt good for 4 months, but again I am experiencing same issues instead I am taking the supplement regularly. Mind you I have also checked my Vitamin D level and it is normal now.

The other thing is that I have more than mild (but not severe) pain in my neck and my left-hand twitches sometimes, also I feel pain and numbness in the same hand sometimes.  I have asked my personal doctor several times that what is the reason for high BP, but he is not sure about it. I am afraid that why I am suffering from this High BP at this young age, even in my family no-one has a genetic high BP problem. I don't take any regular medicines, even I don't take BP medicines. I used to go the gym but stopped last year. I am sure that it is not because I left gym that I am experiencing high BP since I was active in the gym.

You are indeed suffering from High Blood Pressure, also called Hypertension. This will require treatment and you should start it ideally at this stage itself before it can cause further injury to your internal organs. High BP has many causes, but they cannot always be ascertained or pinpointed. What is more important is that most causes are unavoidable and hence the focus should be on correction and treatment of this problem.

By itself, Hypertension can cause organ damage and issues like lung injury, liver injury, increased risk of heart attack or strokes, etc. That is the reason you must also get your CBC, ESR, serum calcium and B-12 levels and x-ray cervical spine done and revert. Meanwhile, you can start taking Tab Telma 40 mg - Once daily morning till next consultation
