Detailed Question:
Hello Doctor,
I had intercourse last month using protection (condom, not sure whether it was intact or broken). I was supposed to get my periods around ten days later (my cycle is usually 50 days long) but I didn't get my periods. So I took a pregnancy test using Prega News three days later, and it came out negative.
I waited for ten more days and took a home urine test around 15 days after I missed my period and still it came out negative. To be sure, I took one two more tests in the subsequent days and it was still negative.
I am almost 20 days delayed now and there are still no signs of periods apart from a small amount of bleeding that happened two days back (no muscle cramps ). Am i pregnant? and is there any way to abort the pregnancy in the early stages using pills if I turn out to be pregnant? Kindly suggest what to do. Thank you

Yes, it is quite possible that you could be pregnant in spite of the negative pregnancy tests. Because your periods are usually very wide apart, which is an unusual cycle. This will require further medical examination to diagnose so that your cycles can be regulated and shortened based on the diagnosis.
There are a lot of reasons periods can be delayed from physiological, biological to pathological reasons. Some of the common reasons for delayed periods apart from pregnancy are:

However, in your case, since the cycle is prolonged, you should get an Ultrasound Abdomen Pelvis scan to rule out any possible pregnancy and also to detect conditions delaying your periods so that treatment can be started soon. For further consultation or posting any further queries contact JustDoc
